Whistleblowing in Europe: Legal Protections for Whistleblowers in the EU
This report from Transparency International assesses whistleblower protection laws in 27 European Union States (the report was commissioned by the European Union prior to the accession of Croatia in 2013). The focus – based on research completed primarily by TI country chapters – is on the legisative framework and provides a valuable snapshot of the laws that are specifically aimed at protecting whistleblowers in Europe. It should be noted that it does not focus other laws or factors (culture and practice) that may support whistleblowing more generally.
