The Good Lobby Italia (TGL IT) is the Italian chapter of Brussels-based organisation The Good Lobby, active in Italy since June 2019. TGL IT works at the forefront of civic advocacy and the empowerment of citizens. The Good Lobby fosters bottom-up citizen participation experiences to induce long-term social changes. We demystify and promote lobbying as a legitimate practice of participatory democracy.
TGL IT follows up from previous organisation Riparte il futuro. Established in 2013, Riparte il Futuro is a non-profit civic society organization aimed at promoting transparency and fighting corruption, both in Italy and Europe, through advocacy and education. Throughout the years, Riparte il futuro mobilized and engaged over 1.1 million citizens in anti-corruption and transparency initiatives.
TGL IT believes that whistleblowers play a key role in preventing corruption, so over the years we have run several campaigns and lobbied institutions to promote the regulation of this phenomenon.
Their work has been instrumental in the approval of a protection law in Italy in and the EU Directive on whistleblowing in 2019.
