Transparency International Australia

Transparency International Australia is a national chapter of Transparency International, a global coalition against corruption operating in over 100 countries. Each chapter is independent and unique - together aspiring to a unified vision: a world free of corruption.

TI Australia’s mission is to tackle corruption by shining a light on the illegal practices and unfair laws that weaken democracy. Utilizing research to inform an evidence-based advocacy, they aim to build a better system and work collaboratively with businesses, government agencies and community groups to close the loopholes on corruption.

TI Australia is at the forefront of advocacy on whistleblower protection in Australia. Its individual members and directors include some of the world's foremost researchers on whistleblowing, contributing to major reforms to Australia's corporate whistleblowing laws in 2019, and ongoing pressure for an improved legal framework in the public sector, as well as protection of media freedom.

TI Australia's corporate members are actively experimenting with stronger organisational whistleblowing policies and lending their voice to the call for reform.
