When: Thursday 7th March 2024, 10am - 12:30pm Central African Time, GMT+2

IPPR Namibia is set to release an important new report on Fishrot and Human Rights on Thursday, 7 March 2024. The effects of corruption run far and deep.  It harms people's lives in ways that are long lasting and painful - damaging livelihoods, the well-being of communities and the natural environment and resources, like fishing, on which they depend.

The project will be introduced by Mr. Graham Hopwood, Executive Director of IPPR Namibia with opening addresses by the Mayor of Walvis Bay, Mr. Trevino Forbes and the British High Commissioner, HE Charles Moore.

The report will be presented by the authors, Mr. Frederico Links and Ms. Ester Mbathera, and statements will be made by fisheries workers affected by the corruption revealed in the Fishrot scandal.
