WIN is thrilled to announce the new Chair and Vice Chair for it's board of Trustees.
Chido Onumah will be taking the role of Chair, Chido is a journalist, media trainer and human rights activist and has spent over 30 years training journalists and promoting media and information literacy in Africa. He is the coordinator of the African Centre for Media & Information Literacy (AFRICMIL) based in Nigeria, AFRICMIL is a pan-African centre dedicated to a new vision of media and information literacy as a key component in the education of young people in Africa. AFRICMIL also works on the promotion of whistleblowing and whistleblower protection in Nigeria through its accountability and good governance project, Corruption Anonymous (CORA).
Elizabeth Gardiner will be the new Vice Chair, Elizabeth is an employment solicitor who has trained and provided consultancy to employers in the UK and to trade unions in the EU on whistleblowing and appears regularly as an expert in the media. She is the Chief Executive of
Protect, the leading whistleblowing NGO in the UK, which provides a free legal advice service, which has advised around 50,000 whistleblowers in its 30-year history. She has set up a Parliamentary and Policy function for the charity Working Families and provided legal advice on parental rights at work.
