RightsCon is a world leading summit on human rights in the digital age – bringing together business leaders, policymakers, lawyers, technologists, advocates, academics, government representatives, and journalists from around the world to tackle the most pressing issues at the intersection of human rights and technology. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, RightsCon has moved its conference online between the 27
th of July and 31
st of July.
WIN's Executive Director, Anna Myers will join experts from PODER, Tecnicas Rudas, Ciudadanía Inteligente, and FIBGAR at a Community Lab ‘How should we adapt whistleblowing laws for a Latin American context?’ on the 28
th of July, between 15:15 to 16:15 New York Time (UTC-4). 19:15 - 20:15 GMT. The session will be framed by brief presentations on the global issues on the protection of whistleblowers and the process to create a National Law on the Protection and Promotion of Whistleblowers in Mexico. This will be followed by small group discussions focused on adapting our learning from the experiences in different countries towards the construction of shared guidelines for the region.
