It is an active member of the global Transparency International movement with more than 20 years of activity. The organisation pays particular attention and makes extensive use of partnerships, data and technology in its research and advocacy aimed at achieving its strategic goals.

Work on whistleblowing: Whistleblower protection has been one of the strategic priorities for TI Lithuania for over two decades. TI Lithuania actively contributed to drafting and enacting the Law on Protection of Whistleblowers in Lithuania in 2017 and introducing the amendments to align the law with the EU Directive. TI Lithuania continuously carries out data-driven advocacy activities to improve whistleblower protection in the country. For example, since 2015, TI Lithuania has conducted several pieces of research on whistleblower protection in the country. In addition, over the last five years, TI Lithuania has brought together around 1100 stakeholders from various public sector institutions, including ministries, state-managed companies, and municipalities to the ‘Whistleblowers Protection Forum’. The forum aims to discuss and enhance the protection of whistleblowers in Lithuania, ensuring that those who report wrongdoing are safeguarded and supported.
