Guide to WIN

Are you a whistleblower?

As a network organisation, WIN does not and cannot provide direct legal advice, financial aid, or investigate claims made. Instead, we support and connect national and international NGOs that support whistleblowers to help them develop their capacity and expertise to protect whistleblowers.  We will work with our membership and wider partners in case advocacy, where international support or expertise could make a difference.  As we develop stronger working relationships with NGOs around the world, we hope to increase the number of countries in which people considering blowing the whistle can seek advice and support from a WIN membership organisation.

If you are looking for whistleblowing advice, please look at the organisations in our network to see if there is one based in your country that might be able to assist you in finding the correct support.  Some of our membership operate internationally and may also be able to help.

Are you an NGO or CSO working on whistleblowing and want to know more about WIN?

WIN shares information and expertise as openly as possible and works with a wide range of organisations and partners across the global whistleblower protection ecosystem.  Your organisation does not have to be part of the network to access our resources or talk to us about your work and what you would like to achieve.  Membership is by invitation only after WIN has worked with and built a relationship of trust and collaboration with the organisation. The basic requirement is to be an independent non-profit organisation actively engaged in the civil society space on whistleblowing with a long-term commitment of supporting whistleblowers and their protection. Once invited to join, there is a formal process of vetting and approval by the Board.
