CFE Virtual Forum Series: Legal Protections for Whistleblowers - What is Needed in Canada?

November 10, 2020
Back to All Events
Canada, unlike other countries, has little effective legal protection for those who speak out to stop wrongdoing that harms the public. The large numbers of preventable COVID-19 deaths in long-term care facilities is just one example of the result. A panel of Canadian and international experts, including WIN's own Anna Myers, discuss what’s wrong and how we can fix the problem.

This event was moderated by David Hutton, Senior Fellow, Centre for Free Expression and WIN trustee. The panellists were:

• Ian Bron, Ph.D Candidate, Carleton University; Prominent Canadian Whistleblower
• Tom Devine, Legal Director, Government Accountability Project (GAP) and WIN trustee
• Anna Myers, Executive Director, Whistleblowing International Network (WIN)

The event was livestreamed on 10 November at 4pm EST. It is available to view here
