The 11
th International Conference of Ombuds Institutions in the Armed Forces (11IOAF) is taking place on from the 27 – 29 October 2019 in Sarajevo.
The three day conference entitled 'Building Resilient and Sustainable Ombuds Institutions’ will focus on the topic of how ombuds institutions can develop stronger internal capacities so that they are able to withstand threats and adapt to changing and challenging environments.
In collaboration with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) and the European Organisation of Military Associations and Trade Unions (EUROMIL), WIN has organised a side event to the conference entitled ‘Demystifying Whistleblowing in the Armed Forces.’
WINs Executive Director Anna Myers will moderate a panel with whistleblowing protection, defence and national security experts who will discuss the context and culture of whistleblowing in the military, international best practices and explore the challenges and opportunities in whistleblowing practice in military ombuds.
