Whistleblowers play a vital role in exposing corruption and bring wrongdoing to light yet they are not given adequate protection from digital government surveillance or reprisals in the workplace.
The panel will discuss how important are whistleblowers for investigative reporting on cases of public interest? How can legislators and journalists ensure source protection? Is that still possible in the digital age? What are the risks for whistleblowers? What must the coming federal government do to better protect whistleblowers?
