About: Whistleblowers are often the first to expose unsafe working conditions, corruption, and threats to the public interest. Yet without strong protections and allies, many face isolation and retaliation.
Trade unions are uniquely placed to stand beside these workers - as trusted advocates, negotiators for safer workplace systems, and champions for stronger protections across Europe.
This free online seminar - the first in a new lunchtime series under the SAFE 4 Whistleblowers project - will provide trade unions and labour rights advocates with:
- Practical insights on the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive
- Discussion of opportunities and gaps in national laws and workplace practices
- Tools and quick wins for supporting whistleblowers and building effective speakāup cultures
- A preview of the revamped EU Whistleblowing Monitor
Access to a new briefing paper: Whistleblower Protection: Empowering Trade Unions to Safeguard Workers and the Public Interest
Who should attend:
- Trade union leaders and representatives (in and outside of Europe)
- Labour rights policymakers and EU officials
- Civil society organisations and labour advocates
