WhistleblowersUK are hosting this virtual roundtable discussion on the Official Secrets Act 1989, considering the proposed Law Commission 2020 recommendations and the effects of reform to the legislation.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Martin Bright, the former journalist at the Observer who broke the story of GCHQ whistleblower Katharine Gun's leaked memos. He will talk about the proposed changes, which he says are "a once in a generation opportunity to reform this legislation and will have significant consequences for whistleblowers, civil servants and the security services".
This event will take place on Monday 19th October at 4pm BST. For more information and to register, please see
