Announcing the Myers Moot Court Competition
Date Published: 2 October 2025
The Chair and Trustees of WIN are delighted to announce that the European Whistleblowing Institute (EWI) has introduced the "Myers Moot Court Competition" honouring our own Executive Director, Anna Myers.
The competition will bring junior lawyers from across Europe together to enhance their understanding of EU Whistleblowing Law and their roles in creating strong cultures, as well as connecting them with lawyers who have already advanced whistleblowing. Crucially, the aim is to ensure the next generation sees themselves as part of a far larger mission and vision of advancing whistleblower empowerment, acceptance, and safeguarding.
The EWI say that naming the competition after Anna Myers reflects their profound respect for her work, her ethos, and the global dimension she has brought to whistleblowing over more than two decades. Anna's "unwavering support for civil society" makes her a "crucial actor at the frontline when whistleblowers face silence and isolation".
As a Board of individuals who work in civil society organisations to develop whistleblowing law and practice in different parts of the world, we are proud of our Executive Director, Anna Myers. We hope that the Myers Moot Court Competition will inspire new legal minds around the world to test their skills in similar ways, drawing on a growing body of law to protect whistleblowers everywhere.
Our thanks to EWI for introducing this competition, which we hope creates a lasting legacy and our congratulations to Anna for receiving such an honour.
