Serbian NGO
Pištaljka and the Romani musicians
Kal Band have recently released a joint collaborative song named
"Vetrenjače" (Windmills), the song is dedicated to all brave people who persevere in their fight and was written by Co-founder and Editor of Pištaljka Dragana Matović and Kal Band lead singer Dragan Ristić. The collaboration was created from the joint project "
Singing Heroes: From the Margins to Centre Stage", which encourages the idea of whistleblowing within the marginalised Romani communities.
The project "Singing Heroes: From the Margins to Centre Stage" was created by Pištaljka, the Roma Cultural Center and the Roma Youth Association AKSIOM and included forums and concerts in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. Journalists, local whistleblowers and representatives of Roma associations spoke at Pištaljka's panels, and the KAL band held free concerts.
