Summary: This is an exciting opportunity to join the whistleblowing charity Protect’s dynamic team in the role of Parliamentary Officer. For over 30 years we have provided legal advice to whistleblowers, campaigned for better legal protection for whistleblowing and supported organisations to create effective whistleblowing systems. The role will entail advocating the charity's policy aims with MPs, Peers and officials in Whitehall.
About: Protect is the UK's whistleblowing charity. We aim to stop harm by encouraging safe whistleblowing. We run a free, confidential advice line for workers with whistleblowing dilemmas, train and support organisations with their whistleblowing arrangements, undertake research, inform public policy and campaign for legislative reform.
Since 1993, we have supported 50,000 cases, and our advice line supports almost 3,000 cases each year. We also support organisations to instil best practice speak-up arrangements. Protect is lobbying for legal reform of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 and has drafted new whistleblowing legislation.
