Transparency International Germany is hosting a lecture series on whistleblower protection in Germany.
Whistleblower protection: "Everything under lock and key" explores how whistleblowers who uncover classified information or uncover legal violations in the area of “national security” are not protected by the draft law implementing the Whistleblowing Directive.
When: Tuesday 27 April 2021, 3pm GMT / 4pm CET
Where: Zoom, Register here.
The lawyers Robert Brockhaus , Dr. Simon Gerdemann, and Christian Thönnes will be speaking. They will explore the practical consequences that threaten the uncovering of illegal state practices, discuss whether an external body should be set up to report legal violations and other abuses, and discuss the vagueness of the term “national security” used in the draft law.
Note, this event will be in German.
