WIN is delighted to announce the newest organisation to join the WIN Network, Transparency International Portugal. The national TI chapter of Portugal, established in 2010 strives to fight corruption, promote transparency, good governance, and defend human rights and democratic values.
Whistleblower protection has been one of the strategic priorities for TI Portugal. TI Portugal carries out advocacy activities to improve whistleblower protection in the country. For example, TI Portugal is one of the partners in the Safe for Whistleblowers project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Transparency International.
TI Portugal represents Transparency International in Portugal, it is also accredited as a Non-Governmental Organization for Development (NGDO), is the Civil Society Contact Point of the Community of Democracies, a member of the Tax Justice Network, the Whistleblowing International Network, the UNCAC Coalition, the Open Government Partnership Portugal, the Open Spending EU Coalition, and the Think Tank – Fraud Risks European Union Financial Resources.
In all its civic activity, the association promotes civic participation, access to information, transparency of decision-making processes, effective regulation of systems, and the integrity of organizations.
